I've spent most of my summer holidays in Olomouc. I could never say it was boring; nevertheless I don't like it. But, of course, there were some bright moments.

We can see the smoke a good ten klicks out and they put us down right in the middle of it. I'm getting my squad together and the Lieutenant's giving orders, but already we can see... shit, man. It's like we're trying to do our jobs, do what we usually do, but it's becoming really fucking obvious that something is way, way off, no matter how we try and ignore it. Not the boddies all burned up, not the gasoline stink of the napalm. Not the dead men everywhere, like a carpet as far as the eye can see. Most of us have seen shit like this before--maybe not this much of it, but we've seen it.

i was thinking for some time what should i write this entry about and also in which language. at last i decided to write about my snowboarding trip. than the english was the only sensible option, because people who care about it use the english even better than i do. i was also thinking about another topic, but that article would have to be in czech. the person it would be dedicated to doesn't have much english.

i hate it when it is like this. its almost 2am. i should be studying either geography or math (not even taking in observation the obvious fact that i should be sleeping right now). and yet what am i doing? writing my blog, which is happening like right now. listening to the rolling stones - hence my facebook status - and to pink, which is happening like right now. watching the cratch: http://www.eenet.ee/ - the middle image, which is happening like right now.

in the beginning allow me to wish you a very merry christmas with lot of love and presents and also happy new year 2009. i am working on some emails or postcards (letters) but i have been working on them since the thanksgiving and still no outcome. but i will write them. i promise.

Step out at the Schuster stop on the south-bound side, take two lefts, walk maybe fifteen feet and you're right on top of it.

But you could just as easily walk right past it and never know it was there.

There's no sign up. Not even a door. Just a dark hallway that looks like a good place for a murder.

Take a breath. Follow the cigarette stink and the bluesy jukebox sounds inside.

It's a tolerable little gin mill. Get there before the morning rush, and you're likely to find a stool.
